Personal Statement: As a Surgeon Scientist at the University of Toronto, the long-term goal of my research program is to develop functional genomics platforms that allow us to better understand sarcoma biology so that we can translate this knowledge into more effective treatment for our patients. My clinical expertise is in the surgical management of soft tissue sarcoma. I am a member of the Sarcoma Program, which is the Centre of Excellence for Sarcoma Care in Canada and is affiliated with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Mount Sinai Hospital, and the Hospital for Sick Children at the University of Toronto. In addition to having a translational research lab, I am part of an active clinical research group that is interested in advancing clinical care through engaging in clinical trials and improving quality of life in our sarcoma patients.
